If you are passionate about films or have an interest in cinema, the 2017 Dubai International Film Festival is an exceptional platform for established and emerging filmmakers, as well as provides a platform for Arab cinema to be screened on the global stage, says DIFF’s Artistic Director, Masoud Amralla Al Ali.

Begin mapping your future in the film industry by participating in DIFF with marketing and promotion. Submissions are still open for the ‘Muhr Awards’ as part of its 14th edition.

So, if you are looking to find your place amongst the best filmmakers, DIFF is one of the best places for Arab films to be recognized and it has helped the region’s filmmaking community flourish since 2004; this year, the organizers remain true to their commitment to launch, nurture and promote Arab cinema.

The 14th edition of DIFF, the Dubai International Film Festival, is the most anticipated film event in the region; there, talented, enthusiastic and committed filmmakers have a chance to showcase their work and get noticed. Such a setting offers the opportunity to meet with and learn from some of the best in the industry, thus, making it a must-attend annual event for media (photographers and TV crews), celebrity guests, and regular public. The event will take place from the 6th December – 13th December 2017 at Madinat Jumeirah.

DIFF festival goers will learn about “exciting, original and compelling films from the Arab world and beyond, introducing audiences to fresh new talent and original and distinctive filmmaking,” mentions the website (dubaifilmfest.com).

In addition to the permanent staff at DIFF, in preparation for the festival, many temporary staff and several volunteers are recruited to join and make the event happen.

  • Be a Volunteer at DIFF by registering at https://dubaifilmfest.com/portal/volunteer. Those selected will receive confirmation from the DIFF team to attend a Volunteer briefing session which will be held in November. Volunteer shifts has been opened to apply for since October and for those who have registered in advance.

Volunteers are the behind-the-scenes protagonists of nearly every DIFF event. Many of them have the same enthusiasm and dedication as the paid staff and sometimes even more because they’re passionate about what they are doing and have interest to meet key people in the industry. Consequently, applicants should be dedicated, hard-working and should be willing to work where assigned at positions associated with each department.
