Job Description: This is a full-time position. As the SPE, the incumbent “is primarily responsible for oversight of the Middle East planning process, and supporting the Managing Editor, CNN Arabic and Director of Futures in escalating deployments during breaking news.” He or she will be involved in planning the coverage of key themes, scheduled news events and breaking news in the Middle East via CNN’s digital and social platforms, in addition to other media, including video for TV.
Core Competencies: Be able to identify and prioritize stories and plan coverage accordingly. Must have regional knowledge to cover issues, stories and events in the Middle East.
Skillfulness: Editorial and field experience is desirable with minimum 5 years of practice.
